Plenary Bios

Paul De Martini is a leading industry consultant on the business, policy and technology dimensions of a more distributed power system. In addition to his global industry clients, he is co-project manager for DOE’s modern grid (DSPx) and transmission-distribution operational coordination initiatives. Paul is a visiting scholar at Caltech’s Resnick Sustainability Institute, holds an MBA from the Univ. of Southern California and BS, Applied Economics from the Univ. of San Francisco.

Don Hammerstrom is a Senior Research Engineer for Battelle Memorial Institute at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Richland, Washington. He has led early, innovative field demonstrations of transactive energy systems, including the GridWise Olympic Peninsula Project and the Pacific Northwest Smart Grid Demonstration Project. Don currently leads transactive theory research within the Transactive Systems Program at PNNL.

David Holmberg serves as a mechanical engineer in the NIST Engineering Laboratory, with work focused on building integration with the Smart Grid, looking at transactive energy system co-simulation. He serves as Vice Chair of the SEPA TE Working Group, co-chair of the SEPA ESI Task Force, and convener of the Smart Grid Working Group of the ASHRAE BACnet committee, advancing standards for a transactive grid.

Dr. Kash Nodehi Dr. Kash Nodehi is a Senior Executive Vice President at Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI). He has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University along with over 31 years of experience in the energy industry. Dr. Nodehi has been the contributor to various OATI product life cycles from design and development to implementation. He is responsible for new OATI Big Data and IoT Platform and related applications.
